Sofia Rönkkö

Sofia Rönkkö is currently a doctoral candidate in social pedagogy in the University of Eastern Finland (Kuopio, Finland) as well as project coordinator and research assistant in the Nordic Baltic Regional Resource Center project. Sofia also holds a bachelor degree in education and a master's degree in social pedagogy.

Social pedagogy is a big part of her academic career. Sofia has written articles in social pedagogy in English and Finnish, has been part of the organizing team of the Finnish Social Pedagogy Conference for the last two years and she is a member of the Finnish Society of Social Pedagogy. Sofia has also gained experience in social pedagogy in Japan as an exchanged master's student in 2018. Her research interests include social pedagogy's history, social pedagogy in different countries, social pedagogy in early childhood education, and promoting social pedagogy nationally and internationally.
